I couldn’t eat just one.

There is a new reason for me to dare venture lower than Price Street during High Valley Season.

For months it has been to hightail my high falootin’ craft beer drinking self into the Boardroom (It’s been a spell, think I’ll pop in for some “research”), and now new foodie stop, Chipwrecked has me braving Pismo again.

Chipwrecked is the brain child of Dan and Sarah Paddack who purchased the space next to Pismo Beach’s iconic Hot Shots Billiards Hall. The space once inhabited by Mr. Wongs has undergone a bit of a facelift by the Paddacks, and the once retro red/yellow decor is now open and airy, and takes on a gourmet air with exposed brick walls and simple touches. Chipwrecked specializes pretty much in one thing: freaking delicious potato chips. Locals are so excited by early buzz that the shop saw nearly 50 customers on it’s first soft opening day! The chips range from the simple, The USS Constitution is the perfect salty dipping chip; and the over-the-top, The USS intrepid is bacon on a chip and… wait-for-it…. covered in chocolate. In between, there is the perfect Santa Maria BBQ chip, a chip smothered in lavendar goat cheese and honey; and the Capricia, a chip lightly flavored with lemon with a sprinkling of parmesan and basil. Oh….and the dips. You’ve gotta try the beer and cheddar dip.

Don’t crinkle your nose, just do it and thank me later.
